A million thanks to you for your careful and thoughtful tour planning, for your detailed itineraries, for your guides and drivers, for your phone calls to Peru, and for arranging for us to have lunch with your friends, and to visit the fascinating cooperative in Chinchero.
We were especially delighted with our days with Celinda and Raul. They were both extremely patient with our lack of speed at altitude. Celinda never rushed us, as others might have. Her breadth of information and language skills were impressive, and so helpful. Her flexibility was admirable. She is a gem.
After our delicious lunch with your friends, the artist showed us his studio and his impressive oeuvre, and she showed us around the garden. A very special treat indeed, and a very special couple.
The weavers in the community were lovely, each with individual personalities and so proud of their work. The explanations of their dyeing materials were particularly interesting. And we were so glad to be able to visit the after-school program with Julio. He’s doing so much to encourage and challenge the kids, and we were happy to be able to meet them.
As for lodgings, we particularly liked the hotel in Yucay—a real oasis after days of touring.
Also, our hotel in Aguas Calientes, with a view of the river and mountains. Muchas gracias!
